Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

So, my husband and I have split up but he left me the dogs and they are on my property and he doesn't take care of them but I want to sell them. Can I get in trouble for that. He has eight cars and is trying to take my one from me but my name is on it can he do that?

If you are divorced, the decree should split up the community property. If the dogs and the car are yours, they are your property and you can do what you want. If the car was awarded to you,

he can't touch it.

If you have simply stopped living together and are not divorced, and the items were acquired when you were married, they are community property. You would each have a 1/2 ownership interest. If you sold the dogs, he would be entitled to 1/2 of the proceeds.
