Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have joint custody and pay child support! The mother hasnt let me have possession of them at all since 12-31-09 so i haven't paid! My kids are 18,17,16 and i missed all those years! I have to go to court today and there requesting that i be confined to jail until i pay off 36000 dollars! Is there anything i can do? The mother's side of family is wealthy and i barely make it! I still have a strong relationship with my kids personally through social media and ph! But jail isnt going to help that at all! I need straight advice! Please! Thank you!

Unfortunately, the law won't let you withhold child support just because Mom refuses to allow visitation.

When you pay child support, you aren't "buying" your time with your children.

I'd suggest that you talk with a lawyer about suing Mom under Chapter 42 of the Family Code.
