Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am currently legally divorced with a current custody order in place for our 2 children. My situation is different because a few years after our divorce was finalized we briefly got back together and had another child. We split up shortly after. We never remarried and our third child was never added to current custody orders. I know our situation is different, but I need legal advice. I would like to modify my current orders/regulations and add our third child. Is this possible? What do I need to do?

You actually need a new case for the new child rather than a modification of the old case. The goal would be for the new court order to have nearly the same parenting plan as the divorce decree. The cases might ultimately be consolidated, depending on what's in the divorce decree and the amount of compatibility between the two parents.

Invest in a consultation with a good family law attorney so you can develop a game plan. If you and the other parent are doing essentially the same thing with the new child as you are doing with the other two, it shouldn't be a huge, complicated deal to work through.

Child support will be an issue... ;-)

Good luck!!
