Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am the non custodial parent and haven't talked to my daughter in a year and a half due to the verbal abuse I get from her father when I call. Now that I try to call he threatens to take me back to court to have a no contact order put in place and I cannot afford an attorney. What do I do?

Houston Volunteer Lawyers number is 713-228-0832. They are in the process of moving.

I doubt he can get a "no contact" from a Harris County judge. It's very difficult to do.

So you need to document everything. You are allowed to have witnesses to your attempts to see your child.

I would be glad to talk to you. You need a copy of your current decree. Does the decree state that you must mediate before you can return to court? It's toward the end of the legal document.

You need to save up your money and hire an attorney. I recommend attorney Patricia Bushman at 713-807-9405. Her first appointment is free. Go see her!
