Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Respondents original answer

I hired an attorney to do my divorce bc im stationed in Germany but my attonery is in the states..his paralegal emailed me and said she was doing a Respondents Original Answer...ive emailed them for 3 days asking what that is and how long will the divorce take after that since we both agree on everything and have no kids or anything together...is there anyway u can answer me as to what it is and how long it should take?

I'm sorry you're having problems with your attorney or his office. Seems like answering an email wouldn't be much of a bother. However, since you're represented by counsel, it would be unethical for another attorney (like me) to give you legal advice. Sorry.

Mr. Grissom is correct but in the spirit of providing simple information: a divorce cannot take less than 61 days and a Respondent's Original Answer means that the other side filed the divorce and the Respondent (you) is acknowledging the action and possibly denying some or all of the allegations and/or relief the other side asked for. You really need to work with your attorney. Please try to remember that even emails take time to answer.
