Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Do I have any rights to collect support-I am visitor here in US

14 years ago in other country I had child with a man who has recently become US citizen.

I am now here in US with 13 yr old son we have visa.

Do I have legal rights while here in US to go to attorney and collect child support (for past and present and future) from this man- I have birth certificate with father's name on it for proof he is father.

The father has a new family and they don't have any mony to give us.

I don't have the answer whether you can collect child support before the father entered the U.S. But, now that he is here, he is subject to U.S. law in the state in which he resides. You didn't say whether he lived in TX or not, but child support is quite uniform in most of the states. Contact an attorney in Houston who can help you with this problem.
