Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Does a step parent have any legal guardianship of children? The step parent is married to a party in a filed divorce and signing legal paperwork for the schools and such as a legal guardian. I want to have some sort of legal basis to stop this from happening to present to the parent in which the step parent is married to

It may depend upon any restrictions in your divorce decree. It will probably also depend upon what documents are being signed. Generally, a judge is not going to be concerned about a stepparent signing off on spelling tests. If there are some factors, however, which would generate concern or harm to the child, or the child's relationship with the other parent; there may be cause to consider filing a Motion to Modify, asking for limits/restrictions.
