You have to go to court. There is no other way. A judge needs to sign the legal paperwork to make it official. If everyone agrees it is quick and easy. Of course, the biological father will need to be notified too.

Look on this website and on www.avvo.com for an attorney to help you.

I no longer litigate. I only mediate these days. I recommend the attorney that I sub-let from - Patricia Bushman. Her phone number is 713-807-9405. Her first appointment is free. She accepts payment plans. Her fees are very reasonable. Please tell her office that I suggested her.

All the best.

I agree with what Fran wrote to you. You need to get an experienced attorney and take the matter to court. It will not be an expensive, complicated or long process, so long as everyone is in agreement. I would be glad to offer you a free consultation and explain in detail the steps you need to take to accomplish what you are seeking. My contact information, as well as background information on myself, can be found at mt webite at www.brucezivley.com
