Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

ex will not sign final paperwork

My soon to be ex refuses to sign the final paperwork to get our decree. It is not that he disagrees with it, he is just being stubborn. I received a notice from the courthouse stating that if nothing in received by 9/15/2003 the case will be considered null and void and we will have to start over. I do not have representation and neither does my ex due to financial issues. What can I do in order to ask for more time. Is there a form I can hurry and file?

Re: ex will not sign final paperwork

You need a lawyer immediately. In all liklihood:

1.you will soon have wasted your filing fees, and

2. your paperwork is most likely from a generic form book which will not accomplish what you really intend.

Good Luck.
