Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

customer threatening physical harm to employee

What should be done to teach a customer that you can't go around cussing and threatening an employee because you aren't getting your way. My son (19) works for Academy and a man was searching for a certain size shoe and my son told him they no longer had it in stock. This sent the man over the edge and he used the 4 letter word about 10 times and told him if he didn't climb on that ladder and find his shoe he was going to throw him through a wall. This was witnessed by other employees. What should have Academy done and what should my son do now?

Re: customer threatening physical harm to employee

The store should have used their police officer security guard to escort the customer from the premises. If I were your son, I would have walked away from this idiot when he began cussing. Of course, the academy store manager is an idiot also for not protecting his store and his employees.
