fire from down power line

Is the electric company responsible to pay for damages when a power line falls and starts a fire?

our well house is in ashes and one side of my car is melted along with an enclosed trailer and a moorcycle. I

Nobody else is responsible for maintaining power lines. The big question is - did it just fall or did the storm of the century blow it down? Make a claim.

There are a few different avenues to pursue. I would recommend your filing claims with the power company, your personal auto and home insurance policies. If you file claims with your personal policies, they can pursue subrogation rights against the power company.
