Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Forming an LLC

A colleague and I are forming a business. We will operate in both Texas and Missouri. The main office is in Texas but my colleague already has an existing LLC in Missouri that we want to use. Do we have to form another LLC or can we submit paperwork to rename the existing one?

Our business is credit services and there are specific laws that govern this type of business. Do we have to register our business name in both states in order to operate?

Re: Forming an LLC

You would file your Missouri LLC as a foreign LLC to do business in the state.
