Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Loaned lawnmower goes missing

Approx. 2 weeks ago we loaned our lawn mower, weed eater and other misc. lawn equipment to the neighbor across the street. I asked him for it 1 week ago and was told he had taken it to his sisters and that he'd get it back to us. This past Friday, my husband asked him again for our equipment. Again the guy promised to have it back on Saturday. Here it is Monday, and we still do not have our lawn mowing equipment back. Do we have any rights here? If we report it stolen, is it? Please advise

Re: Loaned lawnmower goes missing

You can file a suit against neighbor in Justice court. Ask for the cost of replacing the equipment.

The lawsuit should motivate him to return the property.
