Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Telemarketing taking unds from bank account

I have had a total of 4 temearketing companys take funds out of my checking account thru electronic withdraw. None of which had authority to do so. They each created and overdraft charge to my account. When I contacted the companys they refund my money when they found out that they had no right to take it out. However, they refused to pay the $5o.oo@ overdraft charge that their actions created. My question is. Are they not liable for the charge they caused me and if so what do I do to get it? I sent proof to them about the overdraft and their response was (we are not paying). The bank was made aware of the problem but I still had to pay the charge they charged my account. It does not make since to hire an attorney for four companys to pay me $50.00 each. for a total of $200.00 that is alot. Please tell me what I cn do. Thank you fo your time.

Re: Telemarketing taking unds from bank account

So, how can your bank charge you a fee when they took money out of your account without authorization?? Ask that to your bank.
