Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas

I spoke with a Mortgage company and with Wells Fargo regarding a refinance on my home. Decided to go with Wells Fargo. When working with the Mortgage company consultant he told me he has a buddy that works for an insurance company and was wanting to know if this buddy of his could contact me regarding home owners insurance. I said it would be okay. The insurance salesman contacts me, I tell him Im not in a position to look at home owner insurance policy information just yet and that my policy with my current company is up in August and it would be in August when I would make a switch. He asked if it was okay to email me or mail me some information. I said it would be okay.

I did not give the insurance salesman personal financial information, but I found the Insurance company had run my credit. Just recently I received a letter from the insurance company claiming my policy is set up on escrow billing and that the insurance company has not received a payment from my mortgage company and my premium is overdue.

Im thinking there are so many things wrong with this. Feedback?
