Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Texas

Bought bootleg dvd's from someone selling out of van.

I bought some dvd's from a person selling them out of the back of his van. At the time I bought them I thought they were authentic. When I opened them I found out they were bootleg. I wrote down the license plates from the seller's van. If I reported it to the police and turned in the bootlegs dvds to the police, will the police take any action and can I get in trouble for buying bootleg dvds?

Any attorney will say it is not likely the police will take action against you. You reported the incident, turned over the bootleg goods and were an innocent buyer. If a problem develops, consult with a good attorney in your area for specific advice.
