Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Texas

I purcharsed what i thougth to be an authentic Coach phone cover last year in november. I listed the item this year on ebay since i no longer needed the item and i received a letter from Coach's attourney stating that i need to turn in my supplier and send them $300. Is there any way around this? i tried contacting them and they said it is non negotiable even thought i purchased the item as an authentic item not knowing it was a counterfeit

Sure. Send them the name of the supplier, remove the item forever from eBay, offer to provide evidence (at their expense, of course) and ignore the demand for $300. Unless you actually sold or are still selling multiple counterfeit items, that should pacify them to where they recognize you are not their problem and move on and leave you be. If you are asking how you can get around the trademark laws and sell counterfeits without legal risk, that you will not find on this site. We advise how to operate legally and do not give recipes to crooks.
