Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Employer Withholding W-2

i worked for a small local restaurant for several months. my boss did not like me

because she suspected i called the labor board on her - an extensive

investigation resulted and she was made to pay substantial fines. i left the

restaurant because i was arrested and was to be away for some time. upon my

release, i called and requested a copy of my W-2. she claims she sent it but i

never received it. she now says i have to pay her and her accountant $25 each in

order to get a copy. is this legal? clearly, she hates me, gives me horrible

references, even calls my friends and family and soils my name. i want nothing

from her but my W-2. how do i go about doing this?

Send her a certified mail letter and state that if she fails to give it to you in a week you'd contact a lawyer
