Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Federation agreement question

I work for a major company and am covered by a collective barganing agreement. I the area where I work has been sold and I am being forced to move. I was given 2 choices in areas covered by this agreement and 1 in an area covered by a seperate agreement. I will be paid to move to the locations in my area but not to the other. They are claiming its an employee convenience transfer on my part. What it amounts to is They will withdraw the offer if I do not pay my own way. the boss originally told me they would not pay because I was taking a demotion . I feel I am being treated differently since they have paid for others traansfer in this same situsation,,any help?

Re: Federation agreement question

Assuming that you are a Union member, the answer to your question may be found in the Union Contract. Ask your Union Steward for more information about transfer parameters under the collective bargaining agreement.
