Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Return of Security Deposit

Upon moving out of my apartment, I cleaned to what I thought was appropriate. When I received a notice from the complex stating they were charging me for cleaning, I called and asked them what cleaning they were talking about. They said the bathtub, the bathroom floor (which I know wasn't dirty) and the stove (underneath where you lift the stovetop and also the drip pans). None of these items were extemely dirty. They never called me and said, ''hey, you need to come and clean these items or you will be charged''. So can they do this or am I due the full deposit back?

Re: Return of Security Deposit

This is a very subjective issue. If it were me, I would just go and clean what they want or let them make the deductions. To dispute would not be worth the expense.
