Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Accused of pet attack

A girl in my apartment complex is accusing my dog of attacking her dog. There were a lot of us out with our dogs in the courtyard playing, and we are all guilty of our dogs not being on leashes; however, my dog did not attack her dog. Tres (my dog) went over to start playing with her dog who started barking incessantly when Tres began to play with hers. The owner started screaming at me, and I called Tres to me. She picked her dog up who then bit her in the face. She has since called animal control and reported a dog attack on her and her dog. She didn't go to the hospital or take her dog to the vet. Can she sue me for something my dog didn't do? She is claiming my dog bit her when it was her own dog that bit her. And she is claiming my dog attacked her dog when they were just playing.

Re: Accused of pet attack

Sometimes people make false claims and sue others. So the answer is yes. To help protect yourself from future claims, keep your dog on a leash.
