Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Hit and Run Felony 07/30/04

I was in a hit and run on 07/30/04...I was the passenger of the car that got hit. The car got hit on the front right side when the other driver was attempting to due a u-turn. My boyfriend was driving the car I was in. He was wearing a seatbelt and I was not. I went forward and broke the rearview mirror and starred the windshield. The other driver looked back and looked like they were going to pull over but left the scene. Witnesses followed them and later was cought. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital...xrays and cat scan. The other driver was a 20yr. old with a minor...The 20yr. old was arrested also on other charges. The other driver didn't have insurance...neither did my boyfriend. The other driver was driving ''uncles car'' so we tried to see if the ''uncle'' had any other insurance and they don't. My question finally...What can I do? I do have health insurance and there is some relief. Is that all? What is Crime Relief Act? Thank You :)

There may be other rememdies available to you. If you believe the owner of the vehicle has other assets, you can still attempt to go after them. Additionally, there is a proceeding in which you can have the driver's license revoked of a driver who causes an accident and doesn't have insurance. You should contact an attorney in your area to discuss these alternatives.
