Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

I was just riding my bike back home from the store; on my neighborhood street that has a side entrance to a small strip center parking lot. A vehicle swung quickly out of the parking lot, in my path, as I rode down the correct side of the street. I braked hard but contacted the side of the vehicle. My bicycle was damaged, I hit the ground and hurt my leg & ankle.

A vehicle traveling in the opposite direction witnessed the entire event, stopped to check on me and acknowledged seeing what happened. The driver of the vehicle pulling out of the parking lot noticed what happed but continued on her way. I believe I have the license plate and description but was mostly focused on the side of the vehicle as I braked and moved to avoid the rear tire running me over.

I called the Houston non-emergency line and was transferred to the substation nearby. The substation referred me to the non-emergency line...etc....etc....

I have damaged property and have difficulty walking. This is going to impact my work and recreation.

What can I do?

First, you need to make sure you are getting the proper medical treatment. You need to speak with a personal injury attorney. You're entitled to recover past and future medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, mental anguish, and disfigurement. I would be glad to answer any questions you may have.
