Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Auto TItle

My wife was given a truck from her father and it had no title. The truck was being purchased from a small ''by here, pay here'' lot that went out of business. So the deal was never completed and the owner of the dealership an the previous registered owner cannot be pinned down. I've had the vehicle in my driveway for months but I don't know what to do with it and I don't want to just give it to the county. What can I do??

Re: Auto TItle

There is a method for requesting a title to be issued and a process for applying for a new title in situations such as the one you describe in your question. It can be confusing though, as the Bureaucratic red tape can be difficult. If you would like to talk further about your options here, please contact Ryan B. Bormaster at my office. He handles just this type of thing. His assistant is Carrie Smith and can be emailed at "[email protected]". She can get you in contact with Mr. Bormaster. He does not charge for initial consultations like this one. Good Luck.

You can have an attorney handle this or contact the DMV yourself and try to get it done.
