Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

city ordinance changes since hurricane IKE

mobile home on my private property,

the ordinance read on 9-13-08 ''you

can replace if damaged by flood, fire

etc.'' 10-13-08 City council changed

the Ord. to read ''you can not replace

or repair''. No other changes, no

time limit, no mention of what

happens if you have already been

damaged.. I have been denied a

permit to repair, and have been told i

could not get a permit to replace. I

am

meeting with city council on Jan. 5th,

what are my rights under the ord.

that was in effect at the time of the

flood.

Make an appointment and lobby the city council members individually ahead of time and you will get a candid response. Also, check with the non-profit disaster relief agencies - they may be able to help.
