Re: dwi

If the driver was charged with a DWI, he/she has 15 days from the date he was charged to attempt to save his driver's license. It is very important to preserve his/her rights by requesting an Administrative Hearing before the Department of Public Safety. This is SEPARATE from the criminal charge and should be done immediately. Ryan B. Bormaster does this area of law regularly. He does not charge for consultations. You can contact his paralegal, Carrie, by emailing her at "[email protected]". You should do this quickly as the clock is ticking. Failure to request the hearing within that 15 day period will result in the automatic suspension of the driver's license. Then if you are pulled over driving you can be charged with a brand new offense, Driving With a Suspended License, which may be a Class B Misdemeanor, depending on the circumstances.
