Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Hurried Judgment during Grievance

My sister and I have been victims of attorney greed during our Mother's probate in Harris County. We are in the middle of a grievance filed and accepted by the State of Texas. Our attorney refused to quit after months of requests to do so documented by letters ignored by the Probate Judge. He is trying to push through a judgment in Brazoria County, where he does business. We are unable to hire an attorney after many attempts to do so because they want too much money. We can't raiseit. The Judge gave us one continuance with much ado. She was very abusive and hateful. It is illegal for us to tape the court proceedings? and is there anything we can do to have this judgement put off until the results of the grievance are in? It seems illegal to us for him to do this while he know the State of Texas Bar Assn is investigating his actions.

Re: Hurried Judgment during Grievance

You cannot tape court proceedings without permission from the judge. And they don't give it!

It is unfortunate but you need a lawyer. That is not something you want to handle by yourself. There may be a lawyer referral service in Brazoria County that can steer you to a lawyer. Or the Houston Lawyer Referral Service, or State Bar Referral Service.
