Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Property to be left to 2 people

When my father died he left our home to my Mom & myself. My mom had a will drawn up that leaves her half of the home to my half-brother. I want to give him reassurance that I will not be able to legally do anything with the home without his permission as this a concern of his (my mom just informed me of his concern). I love my brother and don't want him to have to worry about things such as this. It will be a stressful enough time when we do lose her. Thanks for any help you can give me. May I print up your response for him?

It appears that your 1/2 brother will own 3/4 of the home when your mother dies. That aside, the probate gives the title of record, much like a deed. If anyone checks the deed records, you will not be able to do anything without your brother's joinder. I don't know how to make him trust you though. That is another problem.
