Right of survivorship

my husband transferred funds that were acquired during our marriage (including social security benefits) to an account he had before our marriage. this account has his stepdaughter with the right of survivorship. my name is not on the account. do I have a right to any of these funds?

Yes, but it may involve a lawsuit to get to them. If your husband has died, then you have a claim against his estate. If you are getting a divorce, this will be an issue in the divorce. If you are still married, then you need to have a talk with him about it, and prepare to deal with the issue upon divorce or his death. You might want to discuss it with your heirs, so that if you die first, they will know to pursue the matter against him from your estate.
