Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas

Collect unemployment for harassment?

Is it illegal for my employer to call my neighbor and have people drive by my house to check up on me if I call in sick? If they demote me because I called in sick even though I have a DR note, can I collect unemployment if I resign?

Re: Collect unemployment for harassment?

HAVE you looked for other employment? in my opinion there is no law against that..call TWC..and they will probably tell you quit and lose unemployment...get fired and you may lose if they feel they have to check on you...

Re: Collect unemployment for harassment?

You may be able to sue for harassment. If you resign, you will not be able to collect unemployment.
