Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas

I hurt my back on the job. I have been off for over a year. I am due to have surgery sometime next month. Texas workers comp has already given me an impairment rating, but I need surgey. my benifits are due to stop on october 10-2011. Will my benefits stop even though I will be having surgery based on the five percent impairment rating?
