Legal Question in Family Law in Trinidad and Tobago

want a divorce, but...

Ok so I want a divorce from my husband, however, my mother (who lives in the Caribbean) has temporary guardianship of our son. In addition, we (my husband and I) agreed he would live with her for 2yrs but that time is not specified on the notorized paperwork that we filled out. What do I do and how will this affect the situation.

The divorce is one thing, "no problem man." The child custody is another issue. If your husband has been in the Caribbean, but largely absentee and not providing parenting, you may be able to have your son come come back to live with you. If he has really been living with your mom and been an active parent, you have a problem. He has a huge advantage in becoming the primary parent. You'll have your work cut out for you.
