sabotage

My question:

I was forced to quit recently, I was angry about the reasons. I was in charge of ordering inventory for the company. On my leave, I uninstalled the ordering program and then reinstalled it, erasing all the history of what I had ordered. I regret doing so, it was childish. But, my fear is the doctor may try to sue me or take me to court. Does he have a case? What will happen to me if he does The ordering program costed about $700.00. But, all I erased was what I put into it, all other information is there. Is it a case of sabotage? It was a petty thing to do.

The doctor can sue you for the cost of replacing the data in the system. The information may be able to be recovered by a computer specialist, although that is speculation. Either way you are at risk for judgment of whatever it costs to replace the data.
