Legal Question in Technology Law in Utah

internet advertising

I have a question regarding internet

advertising. There is an advertisement that I do not want my children to be

subjected to, that pops up everytime that I connect to the internet. I have

asked them to make it stop several times, and it continually pops up

there. Is

there any way that I can legally make them stop. Please help me. Thanks,

Re: internet advertising

There are tech ways of preventing the pop-ups, so you do not need to resort to a lawsuit.

For example, you can download a free program called "Pop-Up Stopper" by going to http://www.panicware.com/product_downloads.html. Also, there are programs to keep your children away from sites containing pornography, like NetNanny.

Re: internet advertising

There is no way to prohibit the sending of the ad. You can install a "pop-up killer" program which may eliminate some of the ads. Also talk to your computer vendor about other options.
