Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

I co-signed for a friend on a motorcycle and he quit paying so I had to make the payments. I also found out that the bike is missing or stolen so I can't go take it and sell it. My question is can I take it to small claims and if so can I try to get the total balance or just what I've paid? Thanks.
