Legal Question in Criminal Law in Utah

An 18 year old male and a 20 year old male had been drinking... two beers a piece. They were walking along a sidewalk/parking lot in a shopping center where they were going to eat at a Wendy's. Four officers in patrol cars surrounded and stopped them. There had been a "brawl" on Main Street outside of a bar about 12 miles away and they "fit the description" of some of those involved in the altercation. The guys were not there, they are not allowed in the bars. Both guys ended up with an "underage drinking" citation. This is a first offense for both boys. Do they need a lawyer? What do they need to do when they meet for their initial appearance?

If they were cited with an infraction they will not need an attorney. However, it would be wise to talk to an attorney who could review the citations and offer some advice.
