Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

My 17 year pld daughter just had a baby. The father of the baby is 18. His parents want to take the baby and raise it. They are threatening to take my daughter to court to get custody of the baby. What are her rights in the state and how do we protect the baby?

Your daughter is entitled to raise her child unless she has some issues that preclude her being sufficiently responsible. The father also has rights, but must file for paternity. Your daughter can then plead her case. These cases go from simple to very complicated.
