Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Child Abandment
I have a daughter who is thirteen. Her father has had no contact with her for approximately five years or longer. Is there an ''easy'' way that I can get his parental rights taken away and still receive back child support that he has not paid for ten years?

Re: Child Abandment
Yes, Utah law provides that a parent who abandons a child can have the parental rights terminated, but it does not cut off the obligation for support. You will probably want an attorney to terminate the father's parental rights. Most family law attorneys can handle this kind of case. Get one who has experience.
