Power of Attorney - Unconcious Parent

My mother-in-law was hospitalized a week ago and has been kept sedated since that time. She has several financial issues that need immediate attention (power being shut off, medical leave forms for work, etc). The Dr's don't plan on reviving her from sedation for several more days and even then they don't know what her mental state will be.

What would be the steps to get power of attorney to help with these matters?

Because she us unconscious she cannot grant a power of attorney. You would have to get a temporary order of conservatorship signed by a judge.
