Generally, grandparents can seek visitation rights with grandchildren if all of the statutory elements can be established. Adoption situations can be difficult, so it's usually best to see if the adoptive parents would agree to the visits.

Only if the new adopting parents agree. Grandparents do not have inherent rights to their grandchildren. There is a statutory exception in divorces where, if the grandparents can show an exceptional bonding, they may be granted visitation rights. This statute does not extend to adoptions, but it would be interesting area of law to explore if you can afford the cost of a lawsuit.
