Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Utah

I mowed my lawn in the middle of the day, minding my own business. I went in my house and had been there for a couple of hours. I suddenly heard a wrap on the door and it was my neighbor. He accused me of damaging his daughter's car that was parked in the driveway. I went out to see, and he had his extended family (about 20) looking at me in disgust and yelling at me. The accused me of driving my mower on a certain spot more than necessary to make a rock go on to her car and make a chip. There are no rocks where I was mowing. They told me that if I did not give them my home owner's insurance information, they would call the police. I gave them my home owners insurance information, and they DID call the police. Can this really be done?

IF you are issued a citation by the police, you will need to respond. Otherwise you have done what you need to do.
