Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

The day I started a new job my boss and I were walking through the yard that had building supplies. There was another worker that was using a forklift in a row parallel to where we were standing. I saw that he was about to knock some supplies down and I was able to knock my boss out of the way. The supplies fell and slid into me dislocating my ribs on one side of my body and bruising me. They took me to the hospital and my ribs were put back in place and I was sent home to get better. I was very sore and could barely walk. I ended up needing the rest of the week off work. I started back yesterday and was sent home because I was coughing (I have been being treated for pertussis since friday). My boss called today and I was let go because I have not been able to be at work. I feel this is rather unfair considering the circumstances. Any thoughts?
