Legal Question in Traffic Law in Utah

My boyfriend has 3 charges in wasatch county. The jugde advised him to get an lawyer as this is a misdemeanor clase B and there might be jail time I wanted to know what the possiblitys of him doing jail time is? or if there is a way he can get fines or do community service instead? his charges are possesion of marijuana, possesion of paraphernalia, and never obtained a drivers license. Your questions are the reasons he needs an attorney. An attorney can find out the risks of incarceration and find possible avenues to avoid jail time, or even get charges reduces. BTW, you would be wise to avoid spending time with drug users. If you are using, get counseling. Drugs are a one way ticket to the bottom of the barrel.

Whether or not he would get jail time depends on the judge, his prior history, etc. If you cannot get an attorney appointed for him I suggest that hiring an attorney in this situation can improve his end result.
