Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Utah

My grandfather passed away in 2003, He owned my mothers house and left it in a trust to her three daughters(my sisters and I) my uncle was/is the executor over the trust and my mother has now passed away. As far as we knew and were ever aware of is that my GRANDFATHER bought the home and left it to us girls, my uncle is now claiming that 20 or so years ago HE paid $36,000 for the home and that we owe HIM that money in order to get the home signed over to us. How do we go about this as far as seeing exactly what my grandfather left to us or who paid what amount for the home etc...?

If uncle purchased the house the title would be in his name. IF there is no record of the loan filed with the county recorder, the deal - whatever it was - is not enforceable. You may have to file suit to remove the uncle as trustee for his attempt to cheat you out of the $36k.

You may call for a free consultation.
