Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Utah

trusts

My mother died two years ago, and I was told by a third party that I was left out of her estate. She owned a large farm and I am her only serviving son. I was told that I could work the farm until I died. This is all hear say. The lawyer who wrote the trust would not give me any information at the time of her death. Rumours have come that nothing can be done with the farm without my say so. How can I find out what was in her trust?

Thank you

Re: trusts

If there is a will you can check the probate file at the court house. This would help you find out who the personal representative is and you could contact them for some answers. Give me a call if you need some help with this.

Re: trusts

You first need to figure out if there is a trust and whether the farm is in the trust. Otherwise, the matter is a probate case in which there might be a personal representative. You only have three years to probate a will so don't put this on the back burner too long. If you would like assistance, please feel free to call me for a free consult.
