Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Virginia

expunging my record in Virginia

I was convicted of a felony over 10 years ago for drugs from an incident occurring when I was twenty. It was a first offense and I had to serve no time and was granted early release from probation after 3 years of a 10 year sentence. I would like to have my record expunged in VA and want to know how. I have not been accused or convicted of any since aside from a couple of speeding tickets. Can anyone help me find a lawyer in Richmond to assist me? I want to be a normal citizen again.

Re: expunging my record in Virginia

You cannot expunge the record of a felony conviction in Virginia unless you can prove that you were wrongfully convicted and as a result have received a pardon from the governor. (See Va. Code Sec. 19.2-392.2 et seq.)
