A homestead deed is what you need to use in Va. to claim your "homestead" or "wildcard" exemption. There is a form in the Va. code. If you don't file it on time, you cannot exempt cash, bank accounts, real estate, or many other types of assets. The real place you go to get this is in the office of an experienced bankruptcy lawyer. Do not try to file bankruptcy on your own.
