Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia

Am I liable for Company Corporate Card
The company I work for (Heilig Meyers) is in Chapter
11 procedings. They issued Corporate Cards to all of
the truck drivers and told us we would not be
responsible for repaying this debt even if they file a
chapter 7. The credit card company is telling me that
we will be responsible. This card is used only for
fuel purchases for their trucks. They did not pay
this months bill and the bill is rising and they have
missed court dates concerning the Chapter ll
procedings. Can I protect myself from being
responsible for

Maybe, if you signed the charge slip, for the charges incurred on that slip. It depends on the written terms of the credit card agreement.

If the credit card company is claiming you owe them, they should have no problem sending you a copy of that agreement.

Get it and take it to an attorney for review of its terms.

All these credit card accounts are governed by three things: the written contract, the state law where it was issued, and federal law.
