Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia

subcontractor wages

I've been working with a company for three years as a subcontractor, but I've never signed a contract. They owe me thousands that they've collected from the clients for my hours, but have not paid me. Since I don't have a contract, am I out of luck? I have copies of invoices sent to the client with my name and hours that the client has paid to the company.

Re: subcontractor wages

If you have performed work under an oral agreement you would be entitled to receive the agreed upon compensation. To do so however, since there is no written agreement, you would have to establish the existance of such an agreement, and the nature of it's term.

An oral agreement does not mean that you do not have a contract. It does mean that proving it may be more difficult. The invoices with your name on them might be very helpful.
