Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia

Car repair (charged for repairs that were not done)

I took my car in for a routine tune-up. The service company held my car for (5)days. When I went to get the vehicle, I tried to drive it, but it would only cut off. The car finally stopped running. I took it back to the to get my car repaired. I had paid $530. for service. My car used to run fine now it will not even start. What is my legal recourse.

Notify the shop in writing, certified mail, return receipt requested, of the problem and give them 7 days to cure the problem. If they do not, go to your county/city General District Court and file a legal action against the shop - Warrant in Debt. First call the State Corporation Commission in Richmond to get the name/address of their registered agent. You do not need an attorney.
